Floating the Underground

An expansive field of large limestone boulders forms a level horizontal plain just above the ground. Its vast mass reconstitutes a strata of subterranean limestone from the very stones that are blasted apart in their quarrying. Knitted back together in rough jigsaw fashion, their interlocking form disengages from the earth and hovers over its cast shadow.
